Artist Statement

Bringing harmony into my works with different elements is my enjoyment in creation.

Be born and raised in Hong Kong, a fast-paced city full of vibrancy and competition, I experienced and observed around me different accomplishments and vicissitudes of life; joy and sorrow.   Opposites are essential to meanings that make our lives meaningful.

As a result, I strive for achieving harmony in life, both personally and professionally. It is intrinsic to the development of my creative concepts, where I rely on my emotions to guide the process towards a form of storytelling. Through the use of metaphors, I would ask  the viewer to intuit my message and engage in an open conversation with me.

Sculpting in clay is a fulfilling language with which to evolve and express my narratives. My conceptual thinking emerges through the process of making.  My work also seeks to engage with material experimentation and to explore surface decoration through technical research. The exploration of unlimited combinations of clay and glazes inspires me as I continue my personal journey.

Balancing the intricacy of elements, like clay, form, color, texture,... and making them come together in a unity, that is the harmony I look for in my work.
