Concerned with seeking the harmonies within opposites, my work explores the emotional territory of my lived experiences through metaphorical narratives embedded within the ceramic surfaces.

Title: My Stories ~ Hurt Bore Wisdom (2024)
'Hurt Bore Wisdom' consists of seven slipcast heart-shaped vessels, saggar-fired in an electric kiln.
These reflect my experiential learning through various early middle-age challenges. The stabbing cuts illustrate the hurts while the scorched key marks represent the wisdom gained.

Title: My Stories ~ Heart as Still Water (心如æ¢æ°´) Teapot (2024)
'Heart as Still Water' is a human-heart shaped, slipcast teapot decorated with a rice-grain pattern, on a base of ornamental water. This symbolises my current state of mind, as calm as still water.

Title: My Stories ~ Young Me (2024)
​
'Young Me' illustrates the happy memories of my youth, using slipcast and hand building techniques. The figurative forms depict my favourite life events, together with the rice-grain (Ling Long) pattern representing my cultural heritage.
